Project T02

Predicting treatment outcomes from variability in linguistic behavior and exploring the impact of language-specific working memory in aphasia

PI(s): Dr. phil. Sandra Hanne & Dr. phil. Nicole Stadie

Project T02 transfers research on variability in language processing and working memory in aphasia into clinical practice. It examines whether higher pre-treatment variability predicts greater improvement after speech-language therapy. We explore links between variability and language-specific working memory abilities. Three work packages cover development of assessment tools, single-case treatment studies, and outcome analysis. The collaboration with clinical partners ensures practical relevance. The results will inform theory formation and provide validated materials for therapy.
