Versteckte Variabilität in “Sharing“-Konstruktionen

Dieses Projekt untersucht die Grenzen der Variabilität bei der Bildung von Filler-Lücken-Abhängigkeiten durch das Studium von Sharing-Konstruktionen (SKs), in denen ein einzelner Filler mit mehreren Lücken verknüpft ist (wie in Across-the-board- und Schmarotzerlückenkonstruktionen). Wir wenden eine Vielzahl neuer und verfeinerter Diagnostika in quantitativ-experimentellen Studien sowie in direkten Elizitationen an, um die Hypothese zu evaluieren, dass SKs trotz ihrer Oberflächenähnlichkeit aus unterschiedlichen Quellen entstehen können (= versteckte Variabilität). Dafür vergleichen wir die Morphosyntax (i) verschiedener SKs in einer Sprache und (ii) dieselbe SK über verschiedene Sprachen hinweg. Die Ergebnisse erlauben uns, formale Modelle über die Generierung von Sharing zu verbessern und Beschränkungen über die Bildung von Filler-Lücken-Abhängigkeiten besser zu verstehen.
