Bilinguale Sprachverarbeitung als ein Prädiktor für das Erlernen einer Sprache

In diesem Projekt wird untersucht, wie interindividuelle Variabilität in der bilingualen Sprachverarbeitung die Lernergebnisse in einer neu erlernten Sprache vorhersagen kann. Unsere Ausgangsannahme ist, dass erfolgreiches Sprachlernen eine effiziente Verarbeitung des sprachlichen Inputs voraussetzt. Wir untersuchen bilinguale Sprecher in ihren beiden Sprachen, um die Hypothese zu testen, dass individuelle Sprachverarbeitungsprofile zu unterschiedlichen Ergebnissen beim Erlernen einer neuen Sprache führen.

Dieses Projekt untersucht, wie die Verarbeitung von Sätzen und morphologisch komplexen Wörtern bei Türkisch/Deutsch bilingualen Sprechern von grammatischen und nicht-grammatischen Faktoren beeinflusst wird.

Eine generelle Schlußfolgerung aus unseren Studien zur morphologischen Verarbeitung ist, dass die Untersuchung inter-individueller Variabilität zu Einsichten führt, die verborgen bleiben, wenn nur Maße der zentralen Tendenz ausgewertet werden. Wir fanden z.B., dass morphologisches Parsing (m Vergleich zu Kontrollbedingungen) nicht nur zu schnellerer sondern auch zu homogenerer Verarbeitung führt und so die inter-individuelle Variabilität innerhalb einer (bilingualen) Gruppe von ansonsten heterogenen Individuen reduziert.

Im Bereich der Satzverarbeitung zeigten unsere Experimente zu nicht-kategorischen Fällen von Subjekt-Verb-Kongruenz im Deutschen und Türkischen subtile Unterschiede zwischen mono- und bilingualen Sprechern. Durch die Verwendung constraint-basierter Modelle erhielten wir Einsichten darüber, welche das monolinguale Sprachverhalten bestimmenden Faktoren auch im bilingualen Sprachgebrauch stabil und welche veränderlich sind.

Unsere Experimente haben uns dem Ziel des Projekts, Modelle zu entwickeln, die sowohl der Variabilität als auch der Konsistenz und Robustheit der bilingualen Sprachverarbeitung gerecht werden, entscheidend nähergebracht.
